This six-panel mural is part of the permanent public art collection of Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries, and is installed at Cascade Park Community Library in Vancouver, WA. It was commissioned from a public Call To Artists and was completed and installed in May 2023.
This “moveable” mural envisions a community orchard tended by people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. However, instead of the usual fruits and vegetables normally found in a community garden, this one is comprised of special trees grown from seeds of knowledge and planted in diversity. The harvest is books of all sizes and subjects, encouraging reading together and enjoying learning in community throughout all ages and stages of life.
