Amor Fati

A Latin phrase coined by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche– “Amor Fati” literally means “love your fate.” But the crux of it for Nietzsche meant embracing everything about your fate: the glorious, the difficult, the messy, the quotidien. Love it all because that’s what it means to be alive.

Why Copper?

Pure copper (99.95%) is naturally hypoallergenic. Many people –myself included– are allergic to nickel and/or brass, which are common alloys used to make inexpensive jewelry. Even some nicer gold or silver plated jewelry often has one of these metals as its base alloy, so once the plating rubs off from continued wear, irritation still occurs.

Copper has been considered a healing metal in many cultures for centuries, and is touted by many to aid in alleviating joint pain and inflammation.

Copper is a natural energy conductor that is also said to stimulate energy flow in the body and amplify mental energy. It helps to clear out negative energy, balancing your emotions as well as your chakras.

Copper is an essential trace mineral for many bodily functions including maintaining nerve cells, iron absorption, and the metabolism of Vitamin C. Certain foods contain trace amounts of this needed copper, but absorbing its healing energy through your skin is another option. The degree to which this is effective in your individual body will vary based on the acidity of your sweat, how long you wear the jewelry, and how much metal is in direct contact with your skin.

All my wire, stamping tags, and the majority of my findings are made from pure copper. I use raw, unsealed copper for maximum physical and metaphysical benefits. Copper will patina naturally with wear, but may be polished with a jewelry cloth, if desired.
